GOOD TO KNOW
- The Atlantic Road is best at high tide with a bit of wind, when the sea washes over the bridges — check the tide table for the day you pass.
- Dovrefjell musk-ox safaris are guided and should be booked ahead; you rarely see the animals safely from the road alone.
- Norwegian tolls are automatic (AutoPASS) with no booths to stop at along the way.
