GOOD TO KNOW
- Trollstigen and the Geiranger–Trollstigen 'Golden Route' are seasonal mountain roads (typically late May to mid-October) — check they're open before fixing the dates.
- Two scenic car ferries fit the route — Eidsdal–Linge and the Geiranger–Hellesylt crossing, which doubles as a sightseeing sail.
- In July, book a Geiranger fjord cruise or kayak a day or two ahead — the village is small and fills up fast.
