- The 'Snow Road' (Aurlandsfjellet) is a seasonal mountain road, normally open June to October; the tunnel is the year-round alternative if it's shut.
- The Stegastein viewpoint is free and a short drive up from Aurland — go in clear weather for the fjord view.
- Borgund Stave Church has a visitor centre and small admission; the old King's Road walk nearby is free and easy.
